A Land, At Bloom is a joint celebration of the essence of nature and our cherished interactions within in, presented by textile designer Lauren Cassar of Mirador & photographer Victoria Zschommler.
At Land is the launch of Mirador’s third collection, focusing around Lauren’s modern take on the traditional sarong as a wearable artwork. At Land is rooted in the traditions of the Japanese Zen garden, mirroring its intention to bring to life the intimate essence of nature rather than attempting to reproduce its form. The eight organic cotton sarongs and two silk camisoles that complete At Land feature prints that serve as an aide to meditation by removing the clutter of day-to-day life and taking the remaining elements into blissful abstraction.
Designed & ethically made in Australia, these exquisite pieces will be available for purchase in-house.
At Bloom is a curation of framed still-life photographs taken by photographer and art director Victoria Zschommler. The Simone Gooch floral arrangements featured in At Bloom were photographed in London earlier this year, and the collection is the first of Victoria’s work available in framed print editions. The series of adored seasonal flora gives a subtle nod to Ikebana, the Japanese art of “giving life to flowers”. Colour and light skillfully compliment this revered form to bring an overarching sense of harmony to the floral composition.
Each of the eight images comprising At Bloom will be sold in editions of ten.
